Fireside Family Counseling

How can I help?

Areas of Practice

individual therapy

Many people struggle with emotional difficulties, personal loss, anxiety, doubt, guilt, and any number of other issues. Individual therapy (adults, adolescents, and children) provides a safe environment to explore these experiences, gain better self-understanding, resolve past/present hurts, or even just think out loud with someone trained to listen. Specializations include anxiety, relational issues, and trauma. In-office only.

Couples therapy

Whether you are considering marriage, have been married for fifty years, or are on the brink of  divorce, couples therapy creates an intentional space for healthy communication and healing. Utilizing an understanding of adult attachment, family of origin issues, and communication skills, we can work together to build up - or rebuild - your relationship. We also offer the PREPARE/ENRICH assessment, a leading tool in premarriage/marriage work. In-office or in-home therapy available.

Family Therapy

Parenting is hard.  Maybe you're a single mother of kids who are becoming increasingly out of control. You might be a blended family struggling to combine two styles of parenting. Or maybe adoption isn't as rosy and wonderful as you were expecting.  No matter what your family looks like, it's ok to ask for help.  Specializations include  adoption/foster care issues, attachment, and relational conflict. In-office or in-home therapy available.

Location Options

in-Office Therapy

In-office therapy is available for any type of client. An office session creates a private space set apart from your every-day life, which can reduce distractions so we can focus on the real work. Fireside's office is located at 111 S. 1st Ave, LaGrange, KY 40031 — We are directly across from CityPlace and share a building with Steve Shultz State Farm.

Home-Based Therapy

In-home therapy is available for couples and family therapy. Home-based therapy can be especially useful when working with children, since it allows the therapist to observe natural behaviors in a setting most comfortable to the child(ren). Individual therapy is not available in-home. An additional travel fee (based on distance from the office) applies for in-home services.
